This website provides an overview of service-learning models for health professions students. Service-learning can be a part of the student’s formal curriculum or an extracurricular activity for students on community rotations. There are many benefits to service-learning including that it can provide the student with a sense of belonging to the community, thereby increasing the chance that the student may desire to practice in that community upon graduation.

Please take the time to confer with your supervisor and contact representatives of community organizations to identify potential service-learning activities for health professions students on community rotations in your region.

If you have not done so already, please complete the Website Evaluation and Post-Assessment Surveys. Links to these forms can be found on the evaluation page.
